SISTERAY - Gentrification

from Strummerville A Go-Go #003 by Joe Strummer Fund

/

about

SISTERAY hit 2016 running. Tipped by many pundits as this year's ones to look out for, they played as part of This Feelings Big In 2016 gigs in January and their new tracks have been getting support on radio from Huw Stephens and Phil Taggart (Radio 1), Steve Lamacq and Gideon Coe (BBC 6Music), John Kennedy (Radio X) and on BBC Introducing London by Gary Crowley.

Fronted by songwriters Niall Rowan (vocals) and Dan Connelly (guitar), Sisteray are currently rewriting the indie guitar rule book, producing what Phil Taggart on Radio 1 described as a 'gnarly punk' sound which takes on influences through the history of classic guitar bands from The Who, Small Faces, The Clash and The Sex Pistols, through to The Libertines and Arctic Monkeys with lyrics as engaged and compared to John Cooper Clarke, Billy Bragg and Sleaford Mods.
